An experienced executive in the healthcare sector, Rick received both his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1976 and 1980 respectively. Over the course of Rick’s professional career he has worked side by side with multiple national and international Venture Capital and Private Equity firms creating, building, and managing high-growth, profit driven private/public, post-acute healthcare service businesses. He has successfully led two companies through their IPO’s and public sale. He has also created and lead several successful healthcare start-ups, including, but not limited to Karrington Health, Inc., Acacia Living, Inc., InterMed, Inc. and DevelopMed, Inc., as well as having stepped in as the CEO and Chairman of a leading national Hospice Company, VistaCare, Inc., and most recently, one of the nations largest and most respected professionally led private duty home care providers, LivHOME, Inc. Other professional accomplishments include being one of the original Founders, President and thought leaders of the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) and the Ohio Assisted Living Association as well as a former Board member and Committee Chair of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO). Rick’s vision and passion is in offering the senior population and their families a holistic approach to positive aging in whatever residence they choose to call home. This includes connecting them with their families, friends and healthcare providers, while supporting their physical, emotional and mental well-being and ensuring their safety and security. He has developed this approach through the creation of his latest company, Acacia Living, Inc. (dba INVU) which is an in-home technology platform that responds to and supports the clinical, social, and psycho social dimensions of aging, while allowing home bound clients and their families to gain access to those people and things that matter most during the aging process. “I feel both blessed and humbled to having been afforded the opportunity to be on this journey to hopefully create a positive impact and improve the lives of so many who have given so much over so many years, and now find themselves among the most vulnerable.”
