As a Director at IDEO with more than 15 years of experience in research, Silvia guides key clients and teams to uncover people’s needs and translate research findings into the design of human-centered products, services, and systems.
Silvia guides clients to inform design and business strategies across industries, including health, technology, and transportation. Her passion is leveraging design to impact beliefs and behaviors around horizon topics, such as the future of aging, end of life, and mental health. Recently, she and her team worked with AARP and the Catalyst partners to design tools that empower entrepreneurs to design for the aging market. Silvia’s work has been featured in multiple major media outlets, including The New York Times, CNN, Wired, FastCompany, and The Pacific Standard.
Prior to IDEO, Silvia worked at two MIT startup companies and at management consulting firms, and was a researcher at the University of Venice, Italy. She worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Padua, Italy, and as a teacher assistant at Harvard University.
Silvia holds an M.A. in Organizational Behavior from Harvard University, and an M.A. and B.A. in Communication for Enterprises and Public Institutions from the University of Padua, Italy.
