Steve Shell is an innovative and resourceful executive with more than 30 years of experience in general management, business strategy, sales, marketing and customer development. Steve is responsible to drive the growth of Petplan’s infrastructure for supporting veterinary partners. Known as a change agent with a strong focus on what is good for customers, Steve has been a business leader for companies like Stauffer Chemicals, Saatchi & Saatchi, American Cyanamid, Pfizer Animal Health and Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health.
Most recently, Steve was the Vice President, General Manager of Merck Animal Health, where he was responsible for the Companion Animal Business Unit, which included the Small Animal, Equine, and HomeAgain microchip businesses. His knowledge of the vet space will be invaluable in helping Petplan meet the needs of its partner veterinarians and their clients. When he’s not plotting strategy for integrating pet insurance discussions into vets’ client education agendas, Steve fills several other leadership roles – including coaching various sports teams for his three daughters and sitting on the Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey Town Council.
Steve shares his home with his wife Elizabeth, daughters Allie (17), Katie (14) and Georgia (11), and Genevieve, the family’s six-year-old Cockapoo.
