Ground Transportation
Once in town, hop aboard a site-seeing trolley, travel across town on Metro or on the DC Circulator or take a half day cruise down the scenic Potomac River to experience the cityscape from a different angle. Either way, you will be delighted…and inspired.
Taxi service is plentiful and economical in Washington, DC. Taxis operate on a zone, rather than meter, system, and by law all rates must be posted in each cab. Rates are usually $1.50 for each additional passenger. Cabs for Maryland and Virginia can take passengers from DC to locations in their respective states but not to different locations within the city. The Marriott Wardman Park is easily accessible by Metro (station: Woodley Park). Metrorail and Metrobus provide the safest, cleanest and most efficient way of getting around Washington, DC and the metropolitan suburbs.
Driving Directions
From: Washington National Airport, Northern Virginia (Arlington, Alexandria, Springfield via King Street, Dike Street, Glebe Road, Braddock Road, Van Dorn Street, or Edsall Road) From the South (Richmond, Dale City, Lorton, Fort Belvoir)
Take I-395 North to Route 1. (Route 1 is the 14th Street Bridge.) Follow 14th Street for one (1) mile. Turn left onto K Street. Continue on K Street for five (5) blocks. Turn right onto Connecticut Avenue. Follow Connecticut Avenue for one (1) mile. Cross over the William Taft Bridge. Make a left turn at the 3rd light after the bridge onto Woodley Road. Hotel entrance is on left.
From: Dulles Airport, Fairfax, Herndon, Reston, and Sterling
Take the Dulles Toll Road to I-66 East to Washington. Cross over the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge. Exit off Constitution Avenue. Continue on Constitution Avenue for six (6) blocks and make a left turn onto 17th Street. 17th Street will change to Connecticut Avenue. Continue on Connecticut Avenue for one (1) mile. Cross over the William Taft Bridge. Make a left turn at the 3rd light after the bridge onto Woodley Road. Hotel entrance is on left.
From: Baltimore Washington Airport vie New York Avenue
Follow New York Avenue to L Street. Bear right on L Street and follow L Street to Massachusetts Avenue. Follow Massachusetts Avenue past both Thomas Circle and Scott Circle. Continue past these points to DuPont Circle. Make a right turn onto Connecticut Avenue. Follow Connecticut Avenue across the William Taft Bridge. At 3rd light after the bridge, turn left onto Woodley Road. Hotel entrance is on the left.
From: The North (Baltimore, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Delaware, and New York)
Take I-95 South to I-495 West. Take exit 33-B, Connecticut Avenue South. Continue on Connecticut Avenue for about six and a half (6.5) miles. Turn right onto Woodley Road. Hotel entrance is on the left.
From: The West (Pittsburgh, Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois) from I-270 (Rockville, Frederick, Hagerstown)
Take I-70 East to I-270 South to I-495 East. Take Exit 33, Connecticut Avenue South. Continue on Connecticut Avenue for about six and a half (6.5) miles. Turn right onto Woodley Road. Hotel entrance is on the left.
From: I-295 (Bolling Air Force Base)
Follow I-295 North to I-395 North to Washington. Exit off Main Avenue. Follow Main Avenue and take a right exit onto 17th Street. 17th Street will change to Connecticut Avenue. Continue on Connecticut Avenue for one (1) mile and turn left onto Woodley Road. Hotel entrance is on the left.
From: Baltimore Washington Airport via New York Avenue
