Dianne Timmering, Spirituality Co-Founder & Vice President of Legislative Affairs and Healthcare Policy for Signature HealthCARE, is an innovative entrepreneur, author and respected healthcare leader. With Signature CEO Joe Steier, she co-founded one of the largest for-profit, multi-faith Departments of Spirituality in the nation offering hope in healing for its more than 20,000 stakeholders, 12,000 residents in eleven states. In addition, through Signature’s Legislative Affairs team, she leads real opportunities for innovative solutions by linking healthcare policy, portents of risk, regulatory impact, and legislative momentum to the local marketplace and national business strategic focus.
Prior to a decade spent in healthcare leadership and strategic initiatives, Dianne worked with numerous clients as a fundraising and strategic planning consultant, raising millions of dollars for a variety of political, national, and not-for-profit clients. She traveled the world for President George H.W. Bush, serving as an international liaison while promoting U.S. messaging and policy abroad.
Dianne’s vision has catapulted Signature HealthCARE to a national leader in for-profit healthcare. The Spirituality component is an innovative shift in the delivery of long-term care, its individualized essence integrated with their clinical and therapy partners, assessing and healing spiritual pain and physical sickness through personalized spiritual interventions, enhancing clinical outcomes and impacting ROI, including stakeholder engagement.
Under Dianne’s decade of leadership, Signature HealthCARE’s Spirituality Pillar has been featured in national publications and recently received its first McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Award for its STracker system, an interface between the specificity of spirituality with clinical interaction to mitigate risk, decrease human suffering and impact outcomes. The pillar also, in partnership with the University of Louisville, conducted its first quantitative study on workforce productivity and overall job satisfaction. In 2010, she published her first White Paper entitled “Spirituality and Its Value-added Impact in LTC”, and in October 2015, Dianne was the lead panelist at the Louisville Innovation Summit speaking on Compassion as an Innovation in Healthcare Delivery with renowned Stanford Professor Dr. James Doty.
A Louisville native, Dianne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Marketing from Vanderbilt University (cum laude, Nashville, TN), and has a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Fiction from Spalding University in Louisville, KY. She received her Executive MBA in Health Sector Management and Policy at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. She is also a licensed CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).
Dianne was named both a Healthcare Leader by Medical News and a “Top 20 person to know in Healthcare” on 2015, and has been appointed to the Finance Committee of the American Healthcare Association. The unique model has been recognized by publications across the U.S. In 2009, she co-authored with E. Joseph Steier (President & CEO, Signature HealthCARE) her first work of non-fiction entitled My God! Our God? and hopes to publish Guardian Moon, her first work of fiction, in 2017.
